Exteriors

Soffit, Fascia and Gutters are vital components of your roof:

  • Soffits ventilate your attic and help prevent moisture build-up, which can lead to wood rot, mold, and mildew.
  • Fascia boards provide a barrier between your roof and your home, preventing water from leaking in and damaging your woodwork.
  • Gutters catch rainwater and direct it away from your home, preventing water damage to your foundation, siding, windows, doors, and landscaping.

If you are searching for a soffit, fascia or gutter contractor near me in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Lehigh, Bonita Springs or anywhere nearby, please contact us. We can help!

Soffit

Soffit refers to the horizontal underside of a roof eave. Their primary purpose is to ventilate your roof and attic, as well as protect your home from wind, rain, hail, sun, and snow.

Soffit typically features a plain design with small holes or slots that

provide air circulation. The air that cycles through the soffit vents draws heat and moisture out and away from your attic. This is a very important function because moisture in the attic can develop rot in the decking and rafters.

The soffit is located underneath the eaves of your roof and against your siding. It not only helps with ventilating your roof, but it also keeps away critters like squirrels and birds. Vinyl or aluminum are the most common soffit materials, as they are low maintenance and easy to install.

Fascia

The Fascia is a vertical finishing edge connected to the ends of the rafters, trusses, or the area where the gutter is attached to the roof. The primary role of the fascia is to act as a layer between the edge of the roof and the outdoors, and is meant to protect the wooden board against water damage that can occur during certain weather conditions.

The fascia is a board that runs horizontally at the end of your roof edge and is made from wood, vinyl, aluminum, or PVC. The fascia is the last line of support for the lower edge of the bottom row of roof tiles or shingles.
Also, it’s typically what your gutters are installed on!

If your fascia is dented or damaged from debris or hail, it can expose the edge of your roof, and water can leak underneath your shingles on the edge. This can lead to a lot of damage to your home, so it’s crucial to ensure that your fascia is always in good condition and replace it when necessary.

Fascia is also important because it’s visible to everyone. If you want to maximize your home’s curb appeal, your fascia needs to look great as well.

Gutters

Gutters are an extremely important component of rain water management of any building. Gutters are adhered either to the fascia OR to the drip edge, either needs to be able to hold them up even during a torrential downpour or high winds.

Most roofing companies sub-contract out the gutter portion of their roofing projects because they lack the skill and special equipment to be able to install beautiful looking gutters. The problem with that most gutter contractors work on their own job calendar, so it is nearly impossible to time the gutter contractor to arrive right when the roofing work is complete.

This results in waiting period that can take weeks or even months before your home get gutters installed after the roof has been installed, causing rain water to flow alongside your home. Further, the homeowner oftentimes gets mixed results since many sub contractors may not perform up to the standards that they are expected.

All of this is alleviated by working with SeaCoast. We have our own gutter bending machine, meaning we can make beautiful seamless gutters for as far as the eye can see, right on the spot!

Our dedicated gutter crew will arrive as soon as the roofing work is finished and print seamless gutters (color of your choice) to prevent any water from flowing down the side of your home.
